چکیده
Abstract. Methane emissions associated with the production, transport, and use of oil natural gas increase climatic impacts energy use; however, little is known about how vary temporally commodity prices. We present airborne ground-based data, supported by satellite observations, to measure weekly monthly changes in total methane United States' Permian Basin during a period volatile prices COVID-19 pandemic. As declined from ∼ USD 60 20 per barrel, changed concurrently 3.3 % 1.9 production; as partially recovered, increased back near initial values. Concurrently, production only 10 peak values seen months prior crash. Activity data indicate that rapid decline well development subsequent effects on flaring midstream infrastructure throughput are likely drivers temporary emission reductions. Our results, along past suggest under more typical price conditions, state overcapacity which rapidly growing exceeds capacity leads high emissions.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Reconciling divergent estimates of oil and gas methane emissions.
Published estimates of methane emissions from atmospheric data (top-down approaches) exceed those from source-based inventories (bottom-up approaches), leading to conflicting claims about the climate implications of fuel switching from coal or petroleum to natural gas. Based on data from a coordinated campaign in the Barnett Shale oil and gas-producing region of Texas, we find that top-down and...
